Job summary

LA International is seeking an experienced SC cleared Senior SOC Engineer to join a busy team in the United Kingdom. You will bring a minimum of five years' SOC experience, mentor junior staff, and contribute to rapid incident response and threat detection.

This role emphasizes hands-on SIEM work (Splunk, MS Sentinel), log analysis (Wireshark), and strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, networking, encryption and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a SOC environment.
• Hands-on experience creating security use cases, analytics, and playbooks.
• Experience with SIEM technologies (Splunk and MS Sentinel).
• Experience conducting security event triage and rapid incident response.
• Log analysis experience (Wireshark).
• Strong understanding of information security principles, threat detection, and remediation processes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux technologies, networking, encryption.
• Ability to think critically under pressure and respond effectively to fast-moving security incidents.
• Scripting or query experience (SPL, KQL).

You will have the following experience:

• Industry standard Security qualifications (SANS GCIH, CISSP, Azure, Splunk, etc) or equivalent.
• Strong experience with SIEM technologies within a SOC (Splunk and MS Sentinel experience is highly desirable)
• Hands-on experience creating security use cases, analytics, and playbooks.
• Experience conducting security event triage and rapid incident response.
• Log analysis experience (Wireshark etc.).
• Strong understanding of information security principles, threat detection, and remediation processes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux technologies, networking, anti-virus, vulnerability management, and encryption.
• Ability to think critically under pressure and respond effectively to fast-moving security incidents.
• Scripting or query experience is highly desirable (SPL, KQL, etc.).
• Good communication skills from previous roles.
