Job summary

PayPoint plc in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a Security Operations Centre Analyst to monitor IT and security incidents, respond to alerts, and help maintain robust security controls across our systems.

You will join a 24/7 rota, collaborate with the SOC team, and support internal and external stakeholders to strengthen PayPoint's security posture while developing your skills in Windows environments, SIEM tools, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Experience in 24/7 rota within IT or Security.
• Understanding of PCI-DSS compliance.
• Scripting capability using PowerShell and Bash.
• Familiarity with security tooling (zScaler, Solarwinds, Crowdstrike, Splunk).
• Experience with batch automation tools, Linux, and Azure.
• Working knowledge of SIEM tools and incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage IT and Security incidents.
• Investigate and resolve cyber security events with the SOC team.
• Conduct root-cause investigations and escalate when needed.
• Support stakeholders to enhance PayPoint's security posture.
• Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern (4 on, 4 off).

Are you ready to play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of PayPoint, a leading service provider across the United Kingdom? We are currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team located in Welwyn Garden City.

As a Security and Batch Operations Analyst, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the operational controls necessary to deliver high-quality services to our clients, retailers, and consumers. Our SOC team monitors and responds to alerts and events from our network, ensuring service availability and security. You will be part of a fun and engaging team, contributing to the continuous improvement of our security configurations, practices, and processes

What will you be doing?

• Monitor and manage both IT and Security incidents.
• Investigate and resolve cyber security events, collaborating with the SOC team.
• Conduct investigations into the root cause of security events, escalating when necessary.
• Support internal and external stakeholders to enhance PayPoint's security posture.
• Be part of a 24/7 rotating shift pattern (4 days on, 4 days off)

What would we like from you?

• Passion for the IT sector with a keen interest in Cyber Security.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server OS’s (2012 to 2019), Microsoft Office 365, and Windows Servers Services (DHCP, DNS, AD).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

It would be great if you already have…

• Experience in a 24/7 rota within IT or Security.
• Understanding of PCI-DSS compliance.

• Familiarity with tools like zScaler, Solarwinds, Crowdstrike, Splunk.

• Experience in Event Analysis, Triage, Incident Handling, and Root-Cause identification.
