Savantrecruitment is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 6-month contract in London with hybrid working. You will design, develop and deliver robust data solutions using Snowflake, SQL, DBT, Python and FastAPI, engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on execution from requirements through testing to delivery, with a focus on scalable, well-tested data pipelines. You will collaborate with data platform teams and optimise performance on large datasets,

6 month Contract - London - Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team, playing a key role in designing, developing and delivering high-quality data solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong developer with expertise in Snowflake, SQL, DBT and Python/FastAPI, who enjoys solving complex problems, working with large datasets and engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders.

Taking ownership of solutions from initial requirements through to development, testing and delivery, the successful candidate will ensure applications are robust, scalable, performant and supportable.

The successful candidate will be proactive, delivery-focused and combine strong technical capability with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on development experience with Snowflake, SQL, DBT and Python.

Experience with DevOps practices, automated deployments and source control, ideally Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy and Git.

Strong understanding of performance tuning and optimisation when working with very large datasets.

Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and data integration.

Ability to assess technical requirements and identify effective, pragmatic solutions.

Experience delivering well-structured, maintainable and thoroughly tested software.

Knowledge of test automation techniques, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Experience working across the full software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.

Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, business users and technology teams.

Excellent analytical, logical and problem-solving skills.

Strong relationship management and business engagement capabilities.

Experience designing solutions that can be effectively supported and handed over to first-line support teams.

Financial Services experience, ideally within Wealth Management, with an understanding of financial data.

Experience with Salesforce and digital integration platforms such as Backbase, Temenos or similar.

Ability to balance immediate delivery requirements with longer-term strategic development.
