Job summary

Willis Re (UK) Limited seeks a Data Engineering Lead to drive the Snowflake data lake platform from the ground up. This hands-on role spans ingestion, transformation, data models, governance, and quality assurance, collaborating with architects and delivery partners to ensure scalable, secure data estates for reinsurance data and analytics.

The successful candidate will guide RBAC and masking policies, optimize cost and performance, and mentor engineers while shaping the data engineering

Qualifications

• Proven data engineering leadership delivering a significant data platform end-to-end.
• Hands-on Snowflake expert with platform architecture, RBAC, masking policies, ingestion, sharing and performance optimization.
• Strong data governance experience: tagging, catalogues, lineage, stewardship and access policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Snowflake development and architecture for high-volume reinsurance-related data.
• Establish tagging, cataloguing and data governance across the platform.
• Define data quality controls, automated testing, monitoring and reconciliation.
