Job summary

Catering in Hemel Hempstead is seeking an SMT Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day SMT production, ensuring targets, quality, efficiency and safety are met.

You will lead a production team, coordinate resources, ensure machine setups and first-off builds, and maintain ESD compliant housekeeping while collaborating with Engineering and Quality to resolve issues and maintain IPC/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in an SMT manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of SMT processes, AOI, first-off inspections and rework.
• Previous experience leading or coordinating a production team.
• Ability to read production documentation and work instructions.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of ESD, quality standards and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily SMT production in line with production plans and NPI priorities.
• Allocate operators and resources to meet production requirements.
• Ensure machine setup, kit readiness and first-off builds are completed.
• Maintain housekeeping, ESD compliance and production standards.
• Act as the first point of contact for shopfloor issues, escalating technical concerns where required.
• Monitor production output, downtime and constraints.
• Support operator training, quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC standards and health and safety procedures.

SMT Supervisor

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Hours: Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced SMT Supervisor to join a busy electronics manufacturing team. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the SMT production area, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SMT manufacturing experience and previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
