Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced underwriter in the UK to join our Business Insurance team. You will manage submissions, quotes and binds while building broker relationships to win new business across UK networks.

The ideal candidate has a commercial underwriting background, strong trading and negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to risk assessment and portfolio management; travel across the UK is expected.

Qualifications

• A Levels or similar qualification.
• Good knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Analytical/Critical thinking with the ability to underwrite, market products, identify financial challenges, and analyse information.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and negotiate moderate risks to minimise risk and maximise profitability.
• Proactively manage your portfolio and hit KPIs while targeting new business and retention.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with brokers by phone, email or other channels to market and sell Travelers products.
• Attend conferences across the UK as required.
• Mentor less experienced underwriters and support junior team members.
