What Is the Opportunity?

Business Insurance helps companies in the UK and Ireland identify, prepare for and mitigate risks by offering a broad array of industry-specific, combined property and casualty insurance solutions to customers. This includes SME solutions traded directly, Commercial Accounts traded via brokers, and Corporate Solutions to FTSE 350 Risk Managed companies. Are you a driven underwriter with a passion for building broker relationships and winning new business? In this role, you will be working exclusively with key networks and independent brokers to write new business. You'll proactively handle submissions, quotes and binds — all while analysing and evaluating risk to hit your targets. If you’re decisive, detail-oriented and thrive on negotiating terms and selling solutions, your expertise will play a key part in driving the sustainable profitability and success of Travelers. We are looking for a candidate with strong trading and negotiation skills, a commercial underwriting background, and a genuine passion for building and developing broker relationships. Existing connections with key broker networks would be a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will bring a can-do attitude and the confidence to represent the Travelers proposition at industry events. This role involves attending several conferences throughout the year, with travel across the UK required.

Provide input and support the presentation of Underwriting Reviews for individual policies or portfolios and manage action points. Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to identify cross-selling opportunities. Foster and maintain relationships with brokers by phone, email or other communication channels to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite. Must be able to travel to meetings. Develop and execute pipeline plans and support the renewal team in the retention of business that aligns with the team’s sales plans to drive success working in partnership with the sales team.
