Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Brackley is seeking an Experienced SMART Technician to carry out high-quality SMART repairs and cosmetic refinishing on a range of vehicles, ensuring repairs meet professional bodyshop standards. You'll work with the accident repair team to maintain throughput and quality.

The role offers Monday-Friday hours 08:30-17:00, a competitive salary up to £40,000 DOE, and opportunities for ongoing training and career progression in a modern, well-equipped workshop.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a SMART Technician, SMART Repairer or Cosmetic Repair Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of SMART repair techniques and cosmetic vehicle repairs
• Experience with paint preparation, colour matching, blending and refinishing
• Experience repairing minor dents, scratches, scuffs, plastics and other cosmetic damage
• Alloy wheel repair and refurbishment experience advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high repair standards
• Comfortable working to deadlines, production targets and agreed repair times
• Strong team player with a professional and positive attitude
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous but not essential
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out SMART repairs to vehicle bodywork, including minor dents, scratches, scuffs and cosmetic damage
• Complete paint preparation, colour matching, blending and refinishing to a high standard
• Undertake plastic repairs, cosmetic repairs and other SMART repair techniques where required
• Carry out alloy wheel repairs and refurbishment where required
• Assess vehicle damage and determine the most appropriate repair method
• Inspect completed repairs and rectify any imperfections where necessary
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, quality standards and Health & Safety procedures

THE ROLE

As an Experienced SMART Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality SMART repairs and cosmetic refinishing work on a range of vehicles, ensuring repairs meet professional bodyshop standards. You'll work closely with the wider accident repair team to achieve efficient vehicle throughput and consistently high-quality finished results.
