Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Field Investigations Analyst to join the Smart Metering Operations Centre (SMOC). You will analyse performance data, identify issues, prioritise investigations and provide insight that drives informed decisions for customers and the environment.

Working with field teams, delivery partners and metering specialists, you’ll deliver reports and dashboards, track investigations from identification to resolution and lead continuous improvement across the smart metering

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills with data analysis techniques and Pivot Tables.
• Experience analysing large datasets and transforming data into insights.
• Experience creating and maintaining reports, dashboards and MI.
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including root-cause analysis.
• Experience with databases and data quality processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear communication.
• Ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Effective planning, organisation and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative and proactive approach with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and track field investigations from identification through to resolution.
• Monitor smart meter performance and identify issues like non-responsive meters and data gaps.
• Prioritise investigation activity based on customer impact and operational needs.
• Coordinate remedial actions with field teams, planning and delivery partners.
• Produce reports, dashboards and presentations providing operational insight.
• Analyse trends and performance to identify root causes and improvements.
• Investigate high consumption, shared supplies and other meter anomalies.
• Maintain and organise smart metering data for future analysis.
• Support managers with governance information and performance metrics.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across SMOC.
