Job summary

A leading service provider in Northampton is seeking a Smart Maintenance Engineer. The role involves visiting properties to manage Smart Meters and providing excellent customer service. Qualifications

  • Experience in a meter reading role is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting properties to work on Smart Meters.
  • Using handheld devices to update records.
  • Completing site surveys and field-based tasks.
  • Reconnect meters, swap SIMs/modems, service smart devices, and replace batteries as needed.
  • Perform site surveys and other field-based tasks at customer properties.

Overview

Join TieTalent as a Smart Maintenance Engineer in Northampton, United Kingdom. You will be part of a team delivering metering services with a focus on customer service and safety in a friendly, professional environment.

What you will be doing
  • Visiting various properties throughout the day to work on Smart Meters in both homes and businesses.
  • Using a handheld device to complete tasks and updating records on a tablet for new and existing customers.
  • No live electrical work required; no prior technical qualifications are necessary.
  • Reconnecting Gas and Electric Smart Meters, changing SIM cards, modems, and small gain aerials, re-joining smart devices to the network, and exchanging batteries on gas meters.
  • Completing site surveys and other field-based support tasks that require visiting properties.
What you’ll bring
  • Located in one of the postcode areas: LE, NN, CV, MK; good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
  • Quick to learn and eager to grasp new tasks and opportunities.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively; experience with handheld tools is important.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders while adhering to health and safety requirements.
  • Self-motivated and organised; this is a lone-working role.
  • Dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications and preferences
  • Experience in a meter reading role, especially with smart meters, is a plus (not required).
  • Some electrical knowledge or qualification would be beneficial (not required).
