Job summary

Elexon is seeking an Information Exchange and Interoperability Engineer in London to join the Market Design team. The role focuses on specialist expertise in communication protocols, information exchange standards and interoperability to support smart energy tech within the UK electricity market.

You will work on frameworks and testing for interoperability, engage with stakeholders and policy bodies, and help ensure alignment with evolving electrical standards and new device communication

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of information exchange standards and interoperability.
• Experience with communication protocols and interoperability requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information and identify risks.
• Experience guiding a range of stakeholders on technical matters.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical expertise on communication protocols and interoperability for Energy Smart Appliances.
• Review and support development of technical and regulatory frameworks and specifications.
• Assess proposals and designs for alignment with standards and interoperability requirements.
• Support updates to device standards and communication protocols.
• Provide technical support for interoperability testing and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams, industry stakeholders and policymakers to give technical guidance.
