Job description

Trinity Fire & Security Systems, part of the PTSG Group, has delivered industry-leading services in the Fire and Security industry for over 28 years. As we continue our growth into 2025, we are looking to strengthen our team of skilled engineers with the addition of a Fire & Security Engineer.

Location: Covering the Midlands (Coventry, Coalville, Kegworth, and Mansfield)

This role involves working occasionally on embedded sites, which require 5:30 am starts.

What is the role?

As an Engineer at Trinity, you will provide servicing and small works to our clients’ fire and security systems. You will complete scheduled work efficiently, adhering to Trinity’s high-quality standards, and work as part of a skilled team supported by our wider departments to deliver excellent service and customer experience.

Key tasks include:
  • Carrying out necessary works at customer premises according to the Company’s quality standards.
  • Communicating effectively with customers to ensure understanding of system and site status.
  • Liaising with service administrators and internal stakeholders to meet service commitments.
  • Working to planned service and maintenance schedules, emergency call-outs, and issuing remedial repairs or minor additions to existing installations as guided.
Systems experience required:

Fire - Gent, Notifier, Advanced

CCTV - Hikvision, Avigilon

Intruder - Galaxy, Texecom

Access Control - Paxton, Honeywell

Skills needed:
  • Experience installing and servicing fire, security, CCTV, and access control systems to British Standards.
  • Ability to identify, test, and terminate cables associated with these systems.
  • A logical approach to fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical knowledge required:
  • Understanding basic building services for testing fire alarm interfaces.
  • Knowledge of causes and solutions for fire, intruder, CCTV, and access control issues, including recommendations for system and practice improvements.
  • Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
  • Manufacturers’ training, particularly for Notifier and Gent equipment.
