Small Works Building Coordinator (Office-Based)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Small Works Building Coordinator to join our Specialist Services team. You'll work from our office to coordinate key building projects, ensuring materials, labour, and subcontractors are in place and site work runs smoothly. Your role will involve liaising with clients, preparing documentation, managing procurement, and supporting site teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong health and safety awareness; support preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Conduct site surveys to gather firsthand information and assess project requirements
  • Assist with cost pricing, research, and procurement of building materials
  • Organise hire of specialist equipment
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and long-term partnerships
  • Prepare and submit project quotes to clients
  • Liaise with clients and site teams to ensure appropriate health & safety documentation is produced and submitted
  • Coordinate site labour, including subcontractors and staff, ensuring readiness for project start
  • Act as the principal office contact for site supervisors, subcontractors, and other site staff in coordinating materials and equipment
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the team and project delivery
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a commercial / building co‑ordination setting
  • Solid construction knowledge; experience in regulated sectors (e.g. water) is beneficial
  • Health & safety certifications such as CSCS card and SMSTS
  • Strong customer-service orientation and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.); experience with systems such as SimPro is highly advantageous
  • Excellent organisational ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, full-time
Typical working hours: 08:00 - 17:30
