Job summary

VP-PLC's MEP Hire division is seeking a Small Tools Service Engineer to repair MEP Hire and customer machines to manufacturer specs and high standards.

You will ensure spares are ordered for rapid repairs, replace damaged stickers, and take responsibility for fleet item marking and cost allocation while maintaining safety and quality. The role operates Monday to Friday from our Knottingley area.

Qualifications

• IT literacy and some knowledge of repairs.
• Industry experience preferred but not essential.
• Health & safety awareness and compliance within the branch.

Responsibilities

• Repair to manufacturer specifications and high standards for MEP Hire and customers’ machines.
• Ensure spares are requested for speedy repairs and replace damaged/worn stickers.
• Mark fleet items and ensure correct cost allocation and ownership identifiers.

As our Small Tools Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs to MEP Hire and customers’ machines according to manufacturer’s specifications and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will ensure that spares are requested to facilitate the speedy repair of equipment and that damaged/worn stickers are replaced.
• You will be accountable for marking fleet items, ensuring correct allocation of costs, affordability of repairs and equipment ownership, which will be easy to identify.

What We’re Looking For:

• You will also need to be IT literate and have some knowledge of repairs
• We are ideally looking for applicants with industry experience however this is not essential.
• Taking responsibility for the health and safety within your branch, you must make ensure the business is compliant with HSE legislation and offers a safe working environment for the branch team as a whole, but also for individual employees within their roles.
• The role requires an effective people person with the ability to set objectives and assess progress but also to ensure that you are fully trained and developed in order to carry out your role.
