Job summary

Bryn & Golborne Veterinary Centre, part of IVC Evidensia, is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our two-site practice in Ashton-in-Makerfield and Golborne. The role offers consult-only or consult-and-surgery options, a 36-hour week across four days, and a competitive salary with a £3,000 welcome bonus and relocation support up to £5,000.

• A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Practice Director and clinical team to deliver high standards of patient and client care across a varied caseload.
• Continue to develop clinical skills and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice and support ongoing development of team members.
• Collaborate across two sites Bryn & Golborne Vet Centre and Golborne site.

Practice Highlights

Bryn & Golborne Vets is a thriving two site first opinion practice located in the vibrant Market Town of Ashton-in-Makerfield, just 4 miles south of Wigan, as well as our Golborne site in Warrington, which is situated within easy reach of major cities like Manchester and Liverpool, as well as the picturesque Lake District. Across both sites you’ll have access to dental suite, digital x-ray, ultrasound, blood pressure equipment, tonometer and much more!

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you'll work alongside our Practice Director, a Clinical Lead, three veterinary surgeons including a certificate holder, 2 full time one part time, 4 registered veterinary nurses, 1 SVN and five support staff, who collaborate between our two branches. This is a full-time role, working 36 hours per week, 9 hours per day across 4 days. We are happy to explore the 4 days that best suit you and can discuss this at interview. Also one in four Saturdays 9am-12 noon. We are in a fortunate position to be able to offer a part time rota should that be more appealing.
