Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Speech & Language Therapist for a SEND college in Sutton. You will assess and deliver personalised therapy plans to students with diverse communication needs within a multidisciplinary team.

You will support EHCPs and liaise with staff, families, and other professionals to promote communication skills and independence in learners with additional needs.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
• Experience working with children or young adults with SEND.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A collaborative approach and a passion for improving outcomes for learners with additional needs.
• Band 6 or Band 7 experience (or equivalent) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver individualised speech and language therapy programmes.
• Support students with a range of communication needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, occupational therapists, psychologists and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to student support.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), reviews and annual reports.
• Provide advice, training and strategies to staff and families to support communication across the college environment.
• Monitor student progress and adapt intervention plans where required.
