Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Slitting / Shearing Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team, responsible for setting up and operating metal processing machinery and maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will plan machining from job cards, load material, monitor specifications, perform basic maintenance, document actions, and keep the work area clean. A flexible schedule and a bonus are offered to reward reliable performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by studying job cards, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances, and setting up accurately.
• Load feed mechanism by lifting material into position.
• Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Document actions by completing job cards.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• When the situation arises, work in other areas as directed.
• Comply with the company’s Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures.
