Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire, the UK’s leading crane hire company, invites applications for a Slinger / Signaller at the Leeds depot. You will be responsible for safe lifting operations and ensuring loads are planned and executed correctly.

The role requires a valid CPCS A40 Slinger / Signaller Blue Card, prior Slinger/Signaller experience, excellent communication, and a driving licence. Join a safety‑driven team committed to professional service and customer safety.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS A40 Slinger / Signaller Blue Card.
• Previous experience in a Slinger / Signaller role.
• Strong communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
• Driving Licence (essential).
• Confidence to make decisions and challenge unsafe behaviours when required.

Responsibilities

• Attaching and detaching loads safely.
• Working in line with manufacturer instructions and site procedures.
• Establishing load weights, centre of gravity and load balance.
• Selecting appropriate lifting accessories and checking equipment condition.
• Directing crane movements using approved signalling methods.
• Liaising with site contacts and project teams upon arrival.
• Identifying and challenging unsafe practices when necessary.
• Monitoring environmental factors such as wind and weather conditions.
• Taking action to prevent dangerous situations, including stopping operations where required.
• Operating fire suppressant equipment where fitted.
