Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Poole is seeking an experienced Slinger/Signaller to direct and control lifting operations on site. You will communicate with crane operators using hand signals and radio, attach/detach loads with the right accessories, and inspect equipment for defects.

The role requires a CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification and experience on civil engineering projects. You will work safely in a team, following site procedures and lifting plans, and support management as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification.
• Experience in construction or civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations and site safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

Job description

The company:

A well established regional contractor who specialises in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure.

The role:

As the site Slinger you will be responsible for

• Direct and control lifting operations safely and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with crane operators using approved hand signals and radio communication.
• Attach and detach loads using appropriate lifting accessories.
• Inspect lifting equipment and report any defects.
• Ensure all lifting activities comply with site procedures and lifting plans.
• Maintain safe working areas around lifting operations.
• Work closely with site management and other trades to ensure operations run smoothly.

About you:

Ideally you will have previous working experience in a Slinger position.

You will be conscious of health and safety on site and will be weary of others who are working alongside of you.

You will arrive on time, finish your shift at the times allocated by the site manager and complete additional duties as and when the site manager requires.

To be successful in your application for this role you will have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
