Targeted Provision Ltd is recruiting experienced SEND tutors in Shropshire for one-to-one tuition with children and young people who’ve fallen out of mainstream education. Roles offer flexible scheduling, work-from-home planning, and hybrid placements.

Access to Tes CPD and support from SENDCos, Designated Safeguarding Leads, and senior tutors is included. Tuition focuses on English, Maths or Science for learners aged 4–18 with SEND needs.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience, including work with SEMH/ SEND pupils.
• QTS or QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Confidence teaching English, Maths, or Science at one or more key stages.
• Ability to promote safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

You’ll work with vulnerable young people, one at a time, on their terms - none of the teaching-at-scale trade-off, less admin, just one person and the part of teaching you care about. We’re recruiting experienced SEND tutors in Shropshire, £28 - £35 per hour, for one-to-one tuition with children and young people who’ve fallen out of mainstream education, or never been properly served by it.

How We Work

Day to day

• One-to-one tuition in English, Maths, or Science to children aged 4-18, referred by Local Authorities and schools.
• Sessions typically 1-2 hours, in-person - often in the home, sometimes in school or a community setting, occasionally hybrid, usually within school hours.
• Most learners have SEMH, ADHD, ASC, MLD, SLD, or other SEND needs; many are out of school or at risk of being so.
• Per-session reports supported by templates and your SEND Support Specialist.

You’ll need

• Experience: 2+ years’ teaching or tutoring, including substantial hands-on work with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, MLD, SLD, or other SEND needs.
• Qualification: QTS or QTLS, or an equivalent specialist teaching qualification.
• Subjects: Confidence teaching English, Maths, or Science at one or more Key Stages.
• Safeguarding: It is a strict requirement that you have the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can help arrange this) and two professional references.
• Right to work: UK-based with right to work in the UK.

Invoicing and payments

Paid monthly via an auto-generated invoice you approve in our tutor portal.

Applying

We interview on a rolling basis and respond to successful applicants within 2 weeks. Safer recruitment applies; we welcome tutors from every background and want our network to reflect the communities our learners come from. Our referral / introducer scheme pays a fee to anyone who recommends a tutor who goes on to complete a first lesson.

You may have worked as

SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), SEND Teacher, Special Needs Teacher, Special Needs Tutor, 1:1 Tutor, Home Tutor, Alternative Provision Tutor, Reintegration Tutor, Intervention Specialist, Inclusion Coordinator, or a mainstream / class teacher including Maths, English or Science with SEND experience.
