Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is looking for a proactive Skills Practitioner to support Electrical Installation learners in the Built Environment department. You will help deliver hands-on learning, ensure workshops are well-equipped and safe, and assist tutors to enable student achievement.

You should be organised, hands-on, and capable of guiding learners through practical tasks, with a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations and some industry experience.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations.
  • Some industry experience in the Electrical sector.
  • Organised, hands-on approach supporting learners.

Responsibilities

About The Role

As a Skills Practitioner in our thriving Electrical Installation area in our Built Environment department, you will play an important part in supporting both staff and students, helping to deliver high-quality, hands‑on learning experiences.

You’ll liaise with colleagues and external partners, support learners to reach their goals, and ensure workshops are safe, well‑organised, and fully equipped.

In this role, you will:
  • Monitor and promote excellent Health & Safety practices within workshop sessions
  • Order, organise, and issue stock and supplies to keep sessions running smoothly
  • Assist in workshop preparation
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students

What are we looking for?
  • Someone confident to support and guide learners through practical tasks
  • Someone witha Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations
  • With some industry experience in the Electrical sector
