Job summary

A manufacturing company in Accrington is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to program and operate CNC machinery. Successful applicants will have at least 4 years of experience with CNC turning and proficiency in using Fanuc controls. Responsibilities include maintaining quality and productivity, as well as adhering to safety practices. Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC machinery using Fanuc control systems.
• Follow offline programming set up & Tooling sheets.
• Download CNC programs and save to proven folder.
• Operate manual machining centers if applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
• Read/understand and interpret engineering drawings.
• Change tool inserts and re-set offsets to meet specs.
• Maintain focus to achieve targets and deadlines.
• Follow safe practices and keep area tidy.
• Report issues to Line Manager/Supervisor.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness in the work area.

SUMMARY

Location: Church, Accrington, BB5 4EF

Hours: Basic of 36 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 6.00-15.30, with opportunity for overtime.

Salary: Upon application.

Responsibilities

• To program, set and operate CNC machinery using Fanuc control systems.
• To follow offline programming set up & Tooling sheets.
• To download CNC programs & save to proven folder once machined parts have been inspected.
• To operate Manual machining centers if applicable.
• Maintain an exemplary level of housekeeping.
• Keeping waste to a minimum.
• To read/understand and correctly interpret Engineering Drawings.
• Change tool inserts and re-set/alter offsets to achieve drawing specifications and tolerances.
• Have high levels of concentration and focus on achieving production targets and scheduled customer deadlines.
• Follow written instructions, safe working practices and always maintain a safe and tidy work area.
• Monitor your own Quality and Productivity with a continuous improvement mind set.
• To help and be proactive for the continual improvement of processes.
• Report any issues (i.e. quality/safety/machine) to your Line Manager/Supervisor.
• Always ensure cleanliness of equipment in work area.
