Job summary

A manufacturing firm in Accrington seeks a skilled individual to operate manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines in the Toolroom department. Responsibilities include producing parts to tight tolerances, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications

• Experienced in setting/operating manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines.
• Ability to measure and inspect manufactured items to assure accuracy.
• Knowledge of CNC grinding machines and CMM Inspection machines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate manual surface grinding machines to produce parts to tight tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure quality standards.
• Follow written instructions and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Experienced in setting/operating manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines producing parts to tight tolerances.
• Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, dedicated team.
• Measure and inspect manufactured items to assure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your line manager.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, oil & coolant level checks.
• Produce work to the quality standard required while minimizing waste.
• Follow written instructions, safe working practices, and to always maintain a safe and tidy work area.
• Help improve safety, quality, and productivity through the continual improvement process.

Key Attributes:

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for high tolerance work.
• Excellent knowledge of operations in a Toolroom grinding department.
• Knowledge of CNC grinding machines advantageous (Training available).
• Knowledge of CMM Inspection machines (Training available).
