Job summary

Probe UK Limited is seeking a skilled CNC Turner / CNC Machinist to join a world leader in precision-engineered products. The role covers setting, measuring and inspecting components to tight tolerances in a high-quality environment.

Two shifts and pay bands apply: Days 38h (Mon-Thu 7:30-16:15, Fri 7:30-12:30) and Twilight 38h (Mon-Thu 16:00-00:00, Fri 12:00-18:00). Commutable from Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Chorley and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Must be time served or hold an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Strong CNC machining experience, ideally with CNC turning, multi-axis, twin-spindle/twin-turret or driven-tooling machines.
• Experience with Fanuc, Okuma and/or Mazak controls, including setting, operation and adjustment of offsets.

Responsibilities

• Set tools, load materials and adjust tool/fixture offsets to achieve accurate production.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, quality plans and work instructions.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment and complete quality documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment and support continuous improvement.

CNC Turner / CNC Machinist Pay, Hours and Benefits

• £32,030 salary - is for Days Only Shift: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:15pm, with a 12:30pm finish on Friday's
• £42,998 salary - is for Twilight Only Shift: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 4:00pm - 12:00am, 12:00pm - 6:00pm on Friday's
• 32 days holiday's including bank holidays

CNC Turner / CNC Machinist Candidate Requirements

• MUST be time served and/or hold an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Strong CNC machining experience, ideally with CNC turning, multi-axis, twin-spindle/twin-turret or driven-tooling machines.
• Experience with Fanuc, Okuma and/or Mazak controls, including setting, operation and adjustment of offsets.
• Experience machining stainless steel to tight tolerances; milling experience would be advantageous.
• Methodical, quality-focused and reliable, with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, initiative and a commitment to Right First Time, teamwork and continuous improvement.

CNC Turner / CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

• Set tools, load materials and adjust tool and fixture offsets to achieve accurate, consistent production.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, quality plans and work instructions.
• Inspect finished components using a range of precision measuring equipment and complete quality documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment, contributing to 5S, Lean and continuous improvement.
