Job summary

MorePeople is seeking an experienced Tractor Driver to join its Farm Operations team in the United Kingdom. The role covers cultivation, establishment, harvest support and haulage using high-horsepower tractors and modern machinery. You will operate heavy cultivation equipment, perform daily checks, and contribute to safety and record-keeping.

A full UK driving licence and hands-on mechanical aptitude are essential. Flexibility for seasonal peak periods is expected.

Job description

An established and progressive farming business is looking for an Experienced Tractor Driver to join its Farm Operations team.

This is a varied, hands-on role working across vegetable and arable rotations, with access to a modern, high-specification machinery fleet and precision farming technology.

The role

You'll play an important role across cultivations, crop establishment, harvest support and haulage, operating modern, high-horsepower tractors and heavy cultivation equipment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Primary and secondary cultivations and land preparation
• Supporting planting, crop establishment and harvest operations
• Haulage and general field operations
• Using GPS and RTK auto-steering systems
• Daily machinery checks, routine servicing and defect reporting
• Maintaining accurate field and operational records
• Working closely with farm management and workshop teams
• Maintaining high standards of machinery care and Health & Safety
• Working flexibly during peak seasonal periods

About you

We're looking for an experienced tractor operator with a strong practical and mechanical aptitude, who takes pride in their work and machinery.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience operating modern tractors and heavy cultivation machinery
• Experience with primary/secondary cultivations and crop establishment
• GPS or precision guidance experience
• A full UK Driving Licence
• Good mechanical awareness and attention to detail
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety
• Flexibility around seasonal working hours

Desirable:

• PA1 & PA2
• Telehandler certificate
• Experience on Lincolnshire silt soils
• Experience within intensive vegetable rotations, particularly potatoes, leeks or brassicas
• Familiarity with digital farm management systems
