Job summary

A global engineering company in Greenwich is seeking skilled soldering technicians for a long-term role. You will perform mechanical assembly and soldering of subsea and land-based communication equipment, working Monday to Thursday with the possibility of night shifts. Candidates must demonstrate previous soldering experience and must have the right to work in the UK. The position offers £10.20 – £11.22 per hour plus benefits including holiday pay and pension.

Skilled Soldering Technician

Location: North Greenwich, SE London

Hours: 41 hrs per week (Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 17:00, possible night shifts after training)

Pay: £10.20 – £11.22 p/h PAYE (+ holiday pay, pension, free parking)

Contract: Long term

Due to a huge ramp up in production, we are recruiting skilled soldering operators for a global engineering company to work in a busy production environment.

Skilled soldering technicians are responsible for safe and accurate mechanical or electro‑mechanical assembly of subsea and land‑based communication equipment. Full training on fibre optic handling, coding & splicing is provided; previous experience is beneficial.

Ideally, you are educated in an engineering field or have worked within a similar industry such as Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Production, Military, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Robotics, Automotive, Aerospace, Aviation, Precision Engineering or Prototyping.

Responsibilities
  • Follow detailed assembly specifications, written instructions and engineering diagrams
  • Wire racks or internal units
  • Mechanical assembly of parts, kit & components
  • Fine Pitch / SMD soldering
  • Crimping
  • Fibre optic splicing, handling and colour coding (training provided on site)
  • Use in‑house computer systems to log materials used (SAP training provided)
  • Material posting in SAP
Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required
  • Previous soldering experience is a must
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy, and IT competent
  • Good understanding of, and commitment to, safe working practices
  • Previous manufacturing, production, technical or engineering experience desirable
Hours of Work

Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 17:00, possible night shifts after training.
