DR Newitt Engineering & Manufacturing in Glasgow is seeking Time-Served Mechanical Fitters for a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. Roles cover mechanical assembly and testing across complex equipment, with options for overtime and a potential 3-day weekend.

The package includes 33 days of leave, pension, life cover, and ongoing development. Candidates will work in a collaborative team, reading drawings, performing fitting and alignment, and preparing gear for testing while

Qualifications

• Time-Served Mechanical Fitter with a 4-year mechanical apprenticeship.
• Experience in mechanical assembly, fitting and testing in heavy engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of industrial equipment.
• Building and dismantling equipment for new and aftermarket requirements.
• Working from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Mechanical fitting, alignment and installation.
• Preparing equipment for testing and supporting commissioning and performance testing.
• Setting up and dismantling test equipment.
