Job summary

Alexander Mann Solutions - Contingency is seeking Skilled Inspectors (Paint) for a 12-month contract based in Derby. You will inspect shafts before and after painting, ensuring conformity to MDT requirements and engineering drawings, supporting high-quality production.

Applicants should have completed a recognised apprenticeship (City & Guilds/NVQ3/SVQ3 or equivalent) and possess a solid understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards in manufacturing. PAYE engagement only.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship, including City & Guilds, NVQ3/SVQ3, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Original trade papers must be available for review at interview.
• A strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and regulations, maintaining a safe clean and tidy work area.
• Accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Deliver right-first-time quality by carrying out thorough inspections and identifying any non-conformances.
• Work within an integrated team to achieve cell objectives.
• Quality check own work and complete relevant documentation accurately.

As a Skilled Inspector, you will work within a collaborative team environment inspecting a range of shafts before and after the paint spraying process. You'll carry out visual and dimensional inspections, ensuring painted areas meet technical specifications, MDT requirements, and engineering drawings, helping to maintain the highest quality standards across production.

What you will do:

• A proactive team player with strong communication skills and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative working environment.
