Job summary

Coinford Ltd is seeking experienced Groundwork Handymen for a busy project in Harlow. Candidates should have proven drainage experience, be able to read construction drawings, and hold a Forward Tipping Dumper ticket.

You will work as part of an established gang delivering drainage, pipelaying and external works to a high standard. Roles involve setting up and maintaining drainage systems, reading site drawings, and performing deep drainage tasks while ensuring safety around live services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in internal and external drainage or similar drainage works.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings accurately.
• Must hold a valid Forward Tipping Dumper ticket.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain internal and external drainage systems.
• Read and interpret site drawings, levels and specifications.
• Set up and use trench boxes and pipe lasers.
• Lay concrete, clay and plastic pipes to bed and levels.
• Ensure pipes are tested and installed correctly.
• Manage groundwater and operate pumping equipment as needed.
• Backfill trenches correctly after installation.
• Bench and construct manholes.
• Carry out external works like kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving.
• Work safely around live services with proper avoidance techniques.

You will be a skilled all-rounder, working within an established gang carrying out drainage, pipelaying, deep drainage and external works to a high standard.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Successful candidates will have proven experience in internal and external drainage, be able to read and interpret construction drawings, and hold a valid Forward Tipping Dumper ticket. You will be a skilled all-rounder, working within an established gang carrying out drainage, pipelaying, deep drainage and external works to a high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installing and maintaining internal and external drainage systems
• Reading and interpreting site drawings, levels and specifications
• Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to the correct bed, surround and levels
• Ensuring pipes are tested and installed correctly throughout
• Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pumping equipment for the task
• Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
• Benching and constructing manholes
• Completing external works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
