Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Skilled Composite Aircraft Fitter to join its aerospace manufacturing site in Pilning. You will work on main wing assemblies and sub-assemblies, combining composite and metallic structures within a precision environment.

The role requires an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/City & Guilds Level 2 with at least three years' relevant trade experience assembling aircraft components from drawings and processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble and trim composite and metallic aircraft components to close tolerances from drawings.
• Set components in calibrated build jigs and perform deburring and fettling.
• Use nut runners and preset torque guns according to engineering data.
• Follow approved technical data and quality standards on the shop floor.

Skilled Aircraft Fitter

£24.53 per hour PAYE on shift Weekend overtime £38./7 day shift

Morson Edge is looking for a Skilled Composite Aircraft Fitter to work on aircraft main wing assemblies and sub-assemblies, combining composite and metallic structures within a precision Aerospace manufacturing environment.

This opportunity would suit experienced Aircraft Fitters, Composite Fitters, Aircraft Structures Fitters, Composite Technicians, Aircraft Technicians, Structures Technicians, Sheet Metal Fitters or Aerospace Fitters with a strong background in aircraft assembly.

Once on shift, you'll earn £24.53 per hour PAYE, with overtime at £28.75 during the week and £38.33 at weekends. Initial training on day shifts is paid at £19.16 per hour.

The 12/7 day shift averages 40.25 hours per week, working 06 00:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday

As a Composite Aircraft Fitter, you'll assemble and trim composite and metallic aircraft components to close tolerances, working from aircraft drawings, engineering processes and approved technical data.

You'll need experience with drilling, reaming, countersinking and riveting, alongside setting components in calibrated build jigs, deburring, fettling and using nut runners and pre-set torque guns.

An apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 is required, alongside a minimum of three years' relevant trade experience assembling aircraft components from drawings and processes.

Successful applicants will complete an onsite practical trade test covering drilling, riveting and countersinking with composite materials.

Experience of CNC processes, SAP, quality systems and self-certification would be advantageous.
