Job summary

Arriva London is seeking a skilled engineer to maintain and repair a fleet of buses to high standards. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults and ensure all servicing complies with Arriva and DVSA standards.

The role offers on-site work in London with opportunities for MOT support, maintenance campaigns and ongoing training, including EV/High Voltage options. A focus on safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent; 5+ years hands-on experience considered if not fully qualified.
• UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• PCV licence preferred or willing to obtain one.
• Ability to pass a PCV pre-employment medical.
• Commitment to delivering safe, reliable, high-quality maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and reactive repairs on a fleet of commercial buses.
• Ensure servicing, inspections and repairs meet Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Assist with MOT preparation, preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Improve bus reliability through continuous monitoring, maintenance and repair.
• Discuss flexible shift patterns with the team to suit lifestyle.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant Qualifications: PSV, HGV, or light vehicle maintenance and repair (minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent). We'll also consider candidates with 5+ years of relevant hands‑on experience if you're not formally qualified.
• Full UK Driving License: Must have a valid UK driving license with no more than 6 points.
• PCV License: A PCV license is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one.
• Medical Fitness: Ability to pass a PCV pre‑employment medical.
• Commitment to Quality: A passion for delivering safe, reliable, and high‑quality maintenance work.
