Job summary

Arriva London North Limited is seeking a skilled PSV Mechanic for Grays Garage to perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a fleet of London buses. You will work to strict Arriva and DVSA standards, carrying out planned maintenance and electrical diagnostics where needed.

Role offers on-site work, on-the-job training including High-Voltage and EV modules, and a range of benefits such as health screening, pension, and enhanced holiday entitlement after years of service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in PSV/HGV/light vehicle maintenance.
• At least 5 years’ experience in PSV/HGV/light vehicle repair and maintenance if not NVQ qualified.
• Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, inspection and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation and planned preventive maintenance campaigns.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis ensuring reliability and maintenance meet Arriva DVSA standards.

A Skilled Engineer role is available for a PSV Mechanic at GRAYS Garage in Arriva London, responsible for carrying out planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, and reactive repairs on a fleet of commercial London buses to strict Arriva and DVSA standards.

Role Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned preventive maintenance campaigns, and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance meet Arriva standards (higher than DVSA).

Requirements

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV/Light vehicle maintenance and repair – minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent international qualification (confirmation required). If not qualified, candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in PSV/HGV/light vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Fit for a PCV pre‑employment medical.
