Job summary

DCS group in Burnley is seeking an experienced Skilled CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision-engineering environment. The role involves setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture high-quality components in line with drawings and tolerances.

The successful candidate will have at least five years of hands-on CNC experience on listed machines, strong programming skills, and expertise with Fanuc, Okuma or Mazak controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience operating and setting at least one of the listed machines.
• Proven CNC setting, operating and programming experience.
• Experience with Fanuc, Okuma or Mazak controls.
• Previous experience machining stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality plans.
• Strong attention to detail with a right-first-time mindset.
• Flexibility to work across day, twilight and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Setting tools, fixtures and machine offsets.
• Loading materials onto CNC machines.
• Setting and operating CNC lathes and machining centres.
• Programming and adjusting machines using Fanuc, Okuma or Mazak controls.
• Machining stainless-steel components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Measuring completed components using inspection equipment.
• Working accurately to tight tolerances.
• Completing quality and traceability documentation.
• Identifying opportunities to improve machining and production processes.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Following lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Manually handling weights of up to 25 kg.
