Job summary

Cranswick plc is recruiting for skilled butchers to join the Preston site on a Mon-Fri 6am-2.30pm schedule with daily overtime until production completes. The role is a 40 hours contract, offering strong progression and a competitive benefits package at the Preston facility.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a block test to determine grade and pay level. Experience in food production is essential, with transport to the HU12 8TB site required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role as butcher/trimmer.
• Ability to meet daily targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Food safety and hygiene knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Cut and butcher carcasses to specification according to department targets and yields.
• Ensure muscles on all primals are cut, seamed and trimmed to required standards.
• Remove bones from primals to required standard and prepare for cutting lines.
• Complete all tasks on the Cutting Line and perform knife work.
• Operate all cutting-line saws, including loin derinder, as required.

We are looking for skilled butchers to join the team at our Preston, Hull site (HU12 8TB). Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a block test to determine grade to start on and relevant pay grade.

***Please note this is for experienced butchers that are currently working in or have recently worked in food production***

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

• To work to the department targets and yields, cutting and butchering any part of the carcass to specification
• All muscles on any primal, on any line, within the Butchery Hall to be cut correctly, seamed and trimmed to the required standard
• All bones to be removed from any primal and to the required standard
• Complete all tasks on the Cutting Line (including knife work)
• Competent in operating all saws on the Cutting Line, including the loin derinder
