Job summary

Queen Mary’s High School in Walsall is seeking a dedicated Sixth Form Study Supervisor to support students in developing independent study habits and to supervise during non-contact periods. The role is permanent, 32.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a 08:30–16:00 schedule (1 hour lunch).

The post sits within The Mercian Trust and the Sixth Form team, with a focus on safeguarding and student welfare. Pay is on the NJC Scale, Grade 4 (SCP 6-11).

Responsibilities

• To support Sixth Form students in developing effective independent study habits and academic self-discipline.
• To supervise students during non-contact periods, ensuring a safe, purposeful and productive learning environment.
• To maintain the high standards of conduct, attendance and behaviour expected of Sixth Form students.
• To provide administrative support to the Sixth Form team and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the Sixth Form Centre.
• To support the pastoral, academic and welfare needs of Sixth Form students in line with the school's policies and procedures.
