Job summary

UKOS BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited is recruiting into our Solar Technical team to support preventive and corrective maintenance across a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets. This home-based role involves daily regional travel within the UK.

You will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance (including HV work), ensure site performance, liaise with the Regional Manager and O&M coordinator, and manage on-site safety and housekeeping, with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• On-site maintenance experience across solar plants.
• HV maintenance familiarity desired.
• Ability to interpret regulations and ensure HSE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Understand site obligations and report on compliance.
• Monitor and implement HSE measures on site.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance (including HV) for solar plants.
• Take on-site responsibility for plant performance, work quality and site appearance.
• Coordinate site works with Regional Manager and O&M coordinator.
• Resolve work tickets with Site Technicians and report to Asset Manager/Regional Manager.
• Liaise with LV/HV and Ground maintenance teams, subcontractors and others.
• Undertake required training and development.
• Participate in on-call rota for non-working hours.

About the role

We are recruiting into our Solar Technical team, to support and carry out all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across a portfolio of utility scale solar assets. This role will be home based but will require daily travel within region with occasional travel to other parts of the UK.

What you will do

You will be required to understand the company’s detailed obligations in respect of the Site/Lead Technician’s assigned sites, and ensure, monitor and report on compliance with those obligations. You required to have awareness of HSE issues, report any on site issue to the Regional Manager and HSE Manager and implement necessary measures to improve HSE. You will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure the successful ongoing operation of the plants. You will be responsible for taking primary on‑site responsibility for plant performance, work quality and site appearance (both electrical, landscaping, and other). You will be required to maintain regular contact with the Regional Manager and O&M coordinator to coordinate site works effectively and seek guidance where required. Together with other Site Technicians you will be required to effectively resolve work tickets and report back any required information to the Asset Manager, O&M coordinator or Regional Manager (or other seniors where required) in a professional, complete and timely manner. You will be responsible for liaising with internal and external parties such as in‑house LV, HV and Ground maintenance teams, subcontractors and other third parties as required and directed. You will be required to professionally and diligently undertake all required training and development. You will be required to take part in the company’s on‑call rota for non‑working hours (including bank holidays and weekend).

What you’ll need to succeed

• C&G 2330 level 2/3 or equivalent.
• C&G BS7671 17th/18th edition.
• Computer literate.
• Can work under own initiative.
• Team Player.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Desirable Attention to detail.
• Desirable: HV qualifications AP15 or OP40 or equivalent and provide a personal switching log.
• Desirable: Qualifications or training in specific PV inverter technologies; Communications or networking qualifications; IOSH or NEBOSH.
• Experience working on ground mounted solar farms.
