Job summary

Wates Residential is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Cardiff team on a major residential development across South Wales. You will help manage the commercial performance of the project, including cost control, procurement and contract management throughout the construction lifecycle.

You will work with operational teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders to maximise value, manage risk and support delivery of high-quality homes.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential construction, housing development or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement and contract administration.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative approach and proactive mindset.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of, or pursuit towards, RICS or similar body.

About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll help manage the commercial performance of the project, ensuring effective cost control, procurement and contract management throughout the construction lifecycle.


Working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders, you'll help maximise value, manage risk and support the successful delivery of high‑quality residential developments.


What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Membership of, or a desire to work towards, RICS or another relevant professional body.
