A well-established secondary school in Warrington is looking for a dependable and hands-on Site Supervisor to take an active role in maintaining a safe, secure and well-organised school environment.

This is an important operational position requiring someone who is practical, responsible and comfortable dealing with a wide range of premises-related issues. You will help oversee the day-to-day condition of the school site, ensuring buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained appropriately and that issues are dealt with before they become larger problems.

Managing keys and access arrangements appropriately.

Keeping appropriate premises and maintenance records.

Supporting fire safety checks and emergency procedures.

Reporting hazards promptly.

Assisting with emergency responses when required.

Supporting the movement and setup of furniture and equipment for school events.

Preparing rooms for meetings, examinations and other activities.

You will need to be comfortable with practical tasks. This may include minor repairs, basic maintenance, moving equipment and checking facilities, although specialist work should always be carried out by appropriately qualified contractors.

Health and Safety

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining safe premises. You will be expected to carry out routine checks, identify hazards and ensure concerns are escalated appropriately.

You should have a good understanding of the importance of fire safety, security, accident reporting and safe working practices.

The role may also involve assisting with emergency situations such as leaks, damage, loss of heating or other unexpected premises issues. You will need to remain calm and practical when dealing with problems.

Contractors and External Visitors

The school regularly works with external contractors for specialist maintenance and compliance work. You may be responsible for providing access, monitoring site activity and ensuring contractors are aware of relevant school procedures.

You should therefore be confident communicating with tradespeople and external service providers while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Site Supervisor - Experience and Requirements

The school would ideally like someone with previous experience in premises, facilities, caretaking or site supervision.
