Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Site Supervisor for its Operations team in the Yorkshire North East region. The role involves overseeing major maintenance and minor improvement schemes, conducting surveillance and assurance inspections, and coordinating with external contractors to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The position requires regular travel to sites, the ability to relocate within one hour of Wakefield/Leeds/Darlington, and a driving licence with no more than 3 points.

Qualifications

• Proven highway/structures and maintenance/construction experience, including work on high-speed trunk roads/motorway networks.
• Good understanding of the DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 and CDM Regulations.
• CSCS Card Holder and SSSTS/SMSTS Certificate are essential requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake construction surveillance and assurance inspections to verify quality of works by external contractors.
• Assure the delivery programme by coordinating with supply chain partners and raise early warnings as needed.
• Escalate on-site issues to the Construction Assurance Manager and ensure governance is followed.
