Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day on-site operations for water and wastewater projects in the UK. You will report to the Site Manager, coordinating activities, subcontractors and labour to deliver safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, a solid understanding of CDM regulations, and relevant qualifications (SSSTS, CSCS Management Card, TWS, First Aid).

Qualifications

• Senior site supervision experience on water/wastewater projects.
• Good knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety management.
• SSSTS, CSCS Management Card and TWS are essential.
• First Aid at Work certification required.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Manager in delivering live water/wastewater projects.
• Mobilise and demobilise construction sites as needed.
• Supervise site activities to meet programme and budget.
• Oversee subcontractors, direct labour and supply chain partners.
• Prepare, review and implement RAMS.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met.
• Review drawings/specifications to ensure works are accurate.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous on-site improvements.
• Plan and execute construction activities safely and to schedule.
• Report and resolve site non-conformances and quality issues.
• Monitor labour resources and overall site productivity.

Simply Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor on behalf of a leading engineering contractor operating within the water and wastewater sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating site activities, and ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in the delivery of live water and wastewater projects.
• Assist with the mobilisation and demobilisation of construction sites.
• Coordinate and supervise site activities to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
• Manage daily site operations, including supervision of subcontractors, direct labour and supply chain partners.
• Prepare, review and implement RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure works are completed accurately.
• Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement on site.
• Ensure all construction activities are planned and executed safely whilst meeting quality and programme expectations.
• Report and resolve site non-conformances and quality issues.
• Monitor labour resources and site productivity.
• Take ownership of site performance and contribute to successful project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience supervising large-scale water treatment or wastewater treatment projects.
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations and site safety management.
• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
• CSCS Management Card.
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS).
• First Aid at Work Certificate.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• SMSTS qualification.
• Experience working on major utility or infrastructure frameworks.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
