CarmichaelUK seeks an experienced Site Supervisor to join Costain on the Northumbrian Water AMP8 Living Water Enterprise programme. You will supervise day-to-day site activities, manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently in line with Costain procedures and project requirements.

The role is ideal for an experienced civils Supervisor joining a major long‑term water infrastructure programme, with duties spanning site coordination, progress monitoring and SHEQ

• Essential: SMSTS.
• Essential: CSCS Gold Card or Black Card.
• Essential: experience as Site Supervisor or similar.
• Essential: strong subcontractor management skills.
• Essential: good health, safety, environmental and quality understanding.
• Essential: ability to maintain accurate site records and documentation.
• Essential: strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring works are completed safely and to standard.
• Monitor site progress and coordinate labour, plant and resources to meet programme.
• Manage SHEQ requirements and ensure compliance.
• Ensure works follow drawings, specs and site documentation.
• Maintain accurate site diaries, records and progress information.
• Raise and manage orders for materials, plant and site requirements.
• Communicate site issues and potential delays to the project team.
• Support delivery of works to required quality standards.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture on site with subcontractors.

Contract: October 2026 – April 2027

CarmichaelUK are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join Costain on the Northumbrian Water AMP8 Living Water Enterprise programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site activities, managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Costain procedures and project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civils Supervisor to join a major long‑term water infrastructure programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring works are completed safely and to the required standards.
• Monitor site progress and coordinate labour, plant and resources to support programme requirements.
• Manage SHEQ requirements and ensure compliance..
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with relevant drawings, specifications and approved site documentation.
• Maintain accurate site diaries, records and progress information.
• Raise and manage orders and requisitions for materials, plant and other site requirements.
• Identify and communicate site issues, constraints and potential delays to the wider project team.
• Support the delivery of works to the required quality standards.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the site and ensure subcontractors comply with project requirements.

Requirements

Essential:

• Current SMSTS.
• Current CSCS Gold Card or Black Card.
• Previous experience working in a Site Supervisor or similar construction supervisory position.
• Strong experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Good understanding of construction health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Ability to maintain accurate site records, diaries and documentation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working within the water, utilities or civil engineering sectors.
• Experience delivering infrastructure works for a Tier 1 contractor.
• Previous experience working within a structured SHEQ and quality management environment.
