Job description

BAM Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to join our team, delivering large civil engineering projects across Scotland, primarily within the energy infrastructure sector, including new substations supporting Scotland's transition to net zero. Positions are available within our RIIOT2 Framework in locations such as Dounreay and Beauly.

Your mission
  • Project a professional image of yourself and the company.
  • Set an example and demonstrate best practices in safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Supervise section/trades foremen and manage subcontractors.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the site team, including engineers, quantity surveyors, safety officers, and site managers.
  • Manage workforce, plant, and materials.
  • Keep daily diaries and allocation sheets updated.
  • Implement and promote safe systems of work across all activities.
  • Ensure all records, such as plant, temporary works, and permits, are current and properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with engineers on setting out information and technical details, contributing to activity planning.
  • Participate in weekly meetings regarding safety, progress, expenditure, and scheduling.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety alerts, and activity briefings.
  • Perform statutory inspections, including safety and environmental tours.
  • Support workforce development and identify training needs.
  • Maintain high standards of quality to meet specifications.
  • Stay informed about current legislation.
  • Be aware of the commercial impact of your work.
  • Prioritize quality and safety to prevent errors.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required.
Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements:

  • Successful experience as a section/trades foreman.
  • Knowledge of company policies, safety legislation, and environmental issues.
  • Ability to read drawings, work to a programme, and maintain records.
  • Experience in relevant civil engineering activities.
  • Ability to develop and promote safe working systems.
  • Experience supervising direct workforce and managing subcontractors.
  • Attendance at SSSTS, Site Briefing Presenter course, Annual Management of Health & Safety Course, and Your Safety Is My Safety.
  • Completion of the Site Supervisor Training Programme.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, ACD, BIM 360 Field, Bam Site, and BAM Nuttall software such as Connect.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Construction Supervision.

Desirable requirements include awareness of Lean principles and qualified first aid certification.
