The role

SSEN Transmission has opportunities for Site Supervisors, with experience of construction and commissioning of major transmission substations, and overhead lines.

These projects are key to our plans to deliver a Network for Net Zero.

- Be measuring completed works against the works information for payment purposes and management of compensation events. Monitor and record key deliverables including earthworks, civils construction, building construction, air-insulated switchgear installation, transformer installation, earthing, building supplies, gas-insulated switchgear and busbar installation and commissioning activities.

- Ensure the project is executed in accordance with relevant requirements, particularly relating to statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, personnel and industrial relations.

- Work closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

- Act as a leader on site and champion for a positive safety culture. Ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and ensure that the Contractor is providing sufficiently detailed weekly reporting as part of the project deliverables including records associated to the safety, quality and testing on site such as ITPs, KPIs etc.
