Job summary

PSR Solutions are recruiting for 4x Site Supervisors on a freelance basis for a major HMP prison construction project in the Bedford area. These roles involve supervising general construction and groundworks on site within an operational prison environment, ensuring HSE compliance, RAMS and site procedures, and coordinating subcontractors and labour to deliver the works on time.

Immediate starts are available for candidates with prison clearance; those requiring clearance can still be considered

Qualifications

• SSSTS is a must.
• SMSTS is a bonus.
• CSCS is required.
• Level 1 Prison Clearance preferred / EL1 clearance.
• First Aid is preferred.
• Experience supervising general construction/groundworks.

Responsibilities

• Supervising excavation and digging works.
• Foundations and footings on site.
• Drainage and ducting tasks.
• Concrete works on site.
• Ground preparation and levelling.
• Kerbing, paving and reinstatement works.
• General builders' works related to groundworks.
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and labour on site.
• Ensuring Health & Safety, RAMS and site procedures are followed.
• Reporting to site management and supporting delivery of works.

PSR Solutions are recruiting for 4x Site Supervisors on a freelance basis for a major HMP prison construction project in the Bedford area.

My client is a leading groundworks and general construction contractor who have secured a significant programme of works with major Tier 1 contractors. They are currently looking to recruit experienced Site Supervisors to join the project team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising general construction and groundworks activities within an operational HMP environment, rather than purely specialist groundworks.

Responsibilities

• Supervising excavation and digging works
• Foundations and footings
• Drainage and ducting
• Concrete works
• Ground preparation and levelling
• Kerbing, paving and reinstatement works
• General builders' works associated with the groundworks
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and labour on site
• Ensuring H&S, RAMS and site procedures are followed
• Reporting to the site management team and supporting the successful delivery of the works

Requirements

• SSSTS - Minimum requirement
• SMSTS - Bonus
• CSCS
• Level 1 Prison Clearance preferred / EL1 clearance (enhanced level one clearance) - candidates without clearance can be put through the process, which can take approximately 2-4 weeks
• First Aid preferred
• Previous experience supervising general construction and/or groundworks activities

This is a long-term freelance opportunity, with up to 2 years' work available for successful candidates.

Immediate starts are available for candidates who already hold the required prison clearance. Candidates requiring clearance can still be considered, with a potential 2-4 week lead time before starting.
