Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Thetford is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager for a major prison fit-out project at HMP Wayland. You will oversee safe, efficient refurbishment of accommodation cells and welfare spaces within a live security environment.

The role requires Tier 1 contractor background, strong leadership, subcontractor coordination, and qualifications in SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid. An immediate start, with over 12 months of secured work and potential for further opportunities

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Site Manager on major construction projects.
• Proven fit-out experience, ideally in occupied or highly regulated environments.
• Tier 1 contractor experience is essential.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
• Must live within approximately one hour of HMP Wayland.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of fit-out works across multiple areas of the prison.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme deadlines are achieved.
• Oversee health & safety compliance and maintain high site standards.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, and prison authorities.
• Monitor quality, progress, and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all works are completed in line with specifications and security requirements.
