Job summary

Galliford Try seeks a Sub Agent for an Infrastructure project in Sheffield. You will help ensure safe, efficient site operations, coordinate deliveries, supervise works and support the project team to meet programme and cost targets.

You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients, ensuring RAMS, permits and documentation are up to date, with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to working safely and supporting a positive on-site culture.
• Able to understand and work with drawings, specifications and programme information.
• Well organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• Confident working collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, designers and clients.
• Holds relevant technical qualifications (e.g. HNC or higher in Engineering, SMSTS and CSCS).

Responsibilities

• Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone on site.
• Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of a section of works, supporting and guiding site teams and subcontractors.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor progress to keep work on track and aligned with project goals.
• Manage multiple work packages, working collaboratively with the commercial team on costs and performance.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders, attending meetings and sharing updates.
• Contribute to reporting, cost forecasting, valuations and overall project performance.
• Support teams to work to the latest designs, ensuring materials, RAMS, permits and documentation are in place.
• Promote quality, safety and continuous improvement through regular checks, problem‑solving and developing others.
