Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Site / Setting Out Engineer to join a well-established contractor in the Darlington area. You will support multiple projects across the North East with precise setting out, surveying and engineering input to ensure works meet tolerances and safety standards.

The role offers a permanent, full-time path with regional work, including overtime where programmes require. Ideal for someone with a background in structural steel, civils or infrastructure who enjoys

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Setting Out Engineer or Engineering Surveyor.
• Experience using Total Stations (Leica, Trimble or Topcon preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of setting out techniques and construction tolerances.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out works using a Total Station.
• Establishing accurate positions for relocation of 144 site containers.
• Maintaining engineering tolerances throughout installation works.
• Carrying out site surveys and dimensional checks.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and site layouts.
• Working with site managers, subcontractors and installation teams.
• Producing accurate site records and as-built information.
• Identifying and resolving engineering issues on site.
• Ensuring works are completed safely and per project specifications.
• Supporting projects across the North East as required.
