Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Site Services Operative in Royston to keep the site clean, tidy and safe while delivering excellent service to Johnson Matthey colleagues and guests. The role involves litter picking, waste management, deliveries and supporting contractors with daily facilities tasks.

You'll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable working independently or in a team, with a focus on safety and customer service. Training is provided and there are development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and friendly service to all colleagues and guests.
• Sweep and litter-pick across the site.
• Empty bins and maintain a clean and tidy environment.
• Pickup and deliver weekly supplies for the client.
• Support with deliveries and store goods correctly.
• Distribute Waterlogic bottles around the site.
• Assist onsite contractors when required.
• Support the Tech Services team with low-risk, high-volume tasks such as checks.
• Respond promptly and professionally to site requests.
• Follow health & safety, COSHH, hygiene, fire and site procedures.
• Report incidents, hazards, damage or maintenance issues.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Manage time effectively and work on own initiative.
• Support the wider Sodexo team with reasonable requests.
• Attend relevant training and participate in development reviews.

Site Services Operative

Join Sodexo as a Site Services Operative, where you'll play an important role in keeping the site clean, tidy, safe and running smoothly while providing excellent service to Johnson Matthey colleagues and guests.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll support a range of day‑to‑day site services, from litter picking and waste management to deliveries, supplies and supporting contractors and the wider facilities team.

You'll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

What you'll do

• Provide a professional and friendly service to all Johnson Matthey colleagues and guests

• Accompany and support onsite contractors when required
• Support the Tech Services team with low‑risk, high‑volume tasks such as fire extinguisher and first aid box checks
• Respond promptly and professionally to site requests
• Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, hygiene, fire and site procedures
• Report incidents, hazards, damage or maintenance issues appropriately
• Wear PPE as required
• Manage your time effectively and work on your own initiative
• Support the wider Sodexo team with reasonable requests
• Attend relevant training and participate in regular development reviews
