Job summary

Reed is seeking a Site Services Officer to oversee cleaning and maintenance of our school premises in Hackney, East London. The role includes supervising external cleaning staff, liaising with the Head Teacher on caretaking matters, and ensuring security and safety throughout the school.

Key responsibilities include locking/unlocking buildings, operating alarms, basic repairs, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a handyperson or supervisory role, preferably within an educational or similar setting.
• NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake training to achieve this.
• Strong ability to relate well to both children and adults.
• Knowledge of basic repair procedures and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and handle maintenance equipment.
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure is required.

Responsibilities

• Start Date: January 2027
• Working Hours: 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM & 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
