Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking a Site Services Engineer in Rotherham for a well-established manufacturing business. You will join the engineering team with real responsibility across utilities, facilities and critical infrastructure, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable site operation.

Role focuses on maintaining and improving site utilities (steam, air, water treatment, HVAC, LEV) and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, with Monday–Friday hours and flexible start/finish times.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer with mechanical experience in manufacturing/regulatory environments.
• IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH preferred)
• Experience managing/controlling contractors and knowledge of statutory inspections and compliance.
• Experience with utilities/building services
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience using a CMMS
• Good understanding of safe systems of work
• BOAS training would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve site utilities and facilities across the plant.
• Work across steam, compressed air, refrigeration, water treatment, HVAC, AHUs, LEV, drainage and effluent systems.
• Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding and root cause analysis of repeat failures.
• Support statutory inspections and compliance.
• Manage and oversee on-site contractors.
• Work with permits, RAMS, isolations and safe systems of work.
• Keep CMMS records and maintenance documentation up to date.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Technical, HSE and other site teams.

I'm working with a well-established manufacturing business in Rotherham that is looking for a Site Services Engineer to join the engineering team.

This isn't just a general maintenance role. You'll have real involvement across the site's utilities, facilities and critical infrastructure, helping keep everything safe, compliant and running as it should.

What you'll be doing

• Maintaining and improving site utilities and facilities
• Working across steam, compressed air, refrigeration, water treatment, HVAC, AHUs, LEV, drainage and effluent systems
• Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
• Fault finding and getting to the root cause of repeat failures
• Supporting statutory inspections and compliance
• Managing and overseeing contractors on site
• Working with permits, RAMS, isolations and safe systems of work
• Keeping CMMS records and maintenance documentation up to date
• Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, energy efficiency and compliance
• Working closely with Engineering, Production, Technical, HSE and other site teams

What they're looking for

You'll ideally be an apprentice-trained engineer with strong mechanical experience and a background in manufacturing, FMCG, food, utilities or another regulated environment.

You'll also ideally have:

• Strong maintenance experience
• IOSH Managing Safely, ideally NEBOSH

The role

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £50,000 + 10% bonus (highly achievable)
